My Students
Our school is comprised of five hundred and sixty creative students, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free lunch. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. These students are from low-income families and rarely get opportunities to do fun, creative activities outside of the school environment.
I also work with the core teachers to help create artwork that shows the students that all the subjects are connected, and that there are many ways to show what you have learned.
My Project
My students need manila and drawing paper in order to create wonderful masterpieces. The students at my school love to create beautiful, amazing artwork and rarely have the opportunity to do this outside of school.
Due to budget cuts, our school is receiving no funding for the arts.
My students need have to access to paper, unique to the art classroom experience. I would love to give my students the exciting opportunity to make more eye-catching artworks that we can hang up in our community. We would love to be able to create bold and beautiful artwork.
While the core subjects are so important for students to learn, art helps to shape the child as a whole.
