My Students

My 23 first grade students are excited about learning. They love to read both fiction and nonfiction books and I want to make sure that continues. They should be using hands-on activities while working with partners to make learning connections. Students should be challenged with differentiated activities that meet their unique needs.

My students need to build the necessary vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency skills to continue to grow as readers.

Most of my students want to perform well to impress their teachers, principals, and parents.

My Project

Due to the differences in our students, they all come with very diverse backgrounds. We will teach students to accept these differences and embrace the benefits of all of them as well.

Often times students learn how to solve problems, react to situations, and feel sympathy toward others through characters in books.

If we focus on filling our bookshelves with books that teach tolerance, we are giving our children great role models to learn from.

My students need a carpet to sit on and enjoy these great stories and be able to read in a comfortable space. Children need a place to dream and books to take them everywhere their imagination leads them.
