If the Students Walls Could Talk!

Help me give my students watercolor markers, spray cans, and paint brushes for a ceiling tile project representing who they are and mini murals that express positivity throughout the school district.

My Project

Art empowers and moves us. Art validates us and allows us to tell our stories. The following questions have been asked "What do you stand for?", "How do you want to be remembered?", and "What Matters to you?" In response to these questions, my 7th and 8th-grade students are working in groups of 2 to 7 to paint ceiling tiles and miniature wall murals throughout the Middle School. The objective is to give my amazing students a sense of belonging and ownership of their school, as well as a voice; the chance to feel seen.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
