This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are unique and driven. Even though they come from a variety of backgrounds we speak positive things into each of their lives, and expect them to accomplish great things. Our Title I elementary school is family knit, and we try our best to be there for each other, and help where we can. Families at our school may not have much, but they do have a school and community that cares. It’s all about working towards a goal.
My Project
The power of imagination is real, and this ocean themed rug is perfect for an elementary setting. My office is filled with animals whether hanging on the walls or stuffed with fluff. Students notice every little decoration, and this creative rug will be no exception. In my office, the one thing I strive for is for students to feel safe, and to create an environment where they can be themselves with zero judgement.
Sweeping problems under the rug is a thing of the past, but lying on a rug and talking/playing things out is a skill I want to teach many students.
I truly appreciate your interest and donation towards this project!
