I have 24 fun and energetic students who love to be in school. They love to explore and are really beginning to understand print concepts. We are a high needs school with a diverse group of fantastic students. Some are homeless and come to us with nothing. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels. These skills and backgrounds really help to create a unique and fun classroom.
My students love to learn about new things.
I believe they should have the opportunity to learn in the way they need to. They come to me hungry and many have never been in a classroom setting. They need engaging and fun materials along with the basic necessities to help them concentrate on learning. We would love to increase our STEM time in the classroom.
My Project
My students live in a highly populated area and do not have any experience outside of the cat and dog world. I would love to bring large animals into the classroom so we can see what they look like and how they act. These larger animal examples will help my students safely explore how different animals are helpful inside our world. Many of my students have no idea what an animal bone looks like or even what a bear does for the ecosystem. These new tools will help us get a greater understanding and love for the animal world around us. This will help me bring compassion to our world inside my classroom because we will be exploring what each animal does for our ecosystem and beyond.
