My Project

Our High School Science Department is at a pivotal juncture in its pursuit of offering a cutting-edge, hands-on science education, particularly in the field of molecular biology. As we strive to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the 21st century, the incorporation of sophisticated laboratory equipment becomes increasingly essential. Central to our needs is a GE Opal Pellet Ice Maker, a seemingly simple yet fundamentally crucial piece of equipment that would significantly enhance our laboratory investigations. The precise temperature control provided by the pellet ice is vital for the stability and integrity of sensitive molecular biology reactions and samples. These include PCR amplifications, restriction enzyme digestions, and the preservation of RNA and DNA samples which are sensitive to degradation at inappropriate temperatures. The addition of a pellet ice maker would not only facilitate the accurate execution of experiments but also inspire our students by allowing them to engage in real-world molecular biology practices. This investment would mark a significant step forward in our mission to provide an exceptional science education, fostering a generation of learners who are well-prepared to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the future.
