I am blessed each morning to walk into my classroom and see the smiling faces of my students. My classroom is a warm, loving, safe environment where my students get to learn through fun hands on lessons. We encourage each other. My students love using technology every chance they get.
I have 18 amazing boys and girls in my class.
They are very eager to learn. Each student in my class has a special quality to offer. They come from many different backgrounds and ethnicity's. Our school differs from others because we have over 300 students in kindergarten alone. There are 15 kindergarten teachers. My students live in a rural area. My students are very eager to learn about new technology. When information is presented using technology they seem more alert and absorb it all like little sponges. They are very close and consider each other as "classroom family". They are always helping each other and looking out for one another.
My Project
The iPad I have requested will be used as a technology center. The students will use them to help improve their phonics, reading, and math skills. Technology is a major component in the real world these days. The iPad will provide the students the opportunity to learn important skills in a fun way. It will provide tactile, visual, and auditory learning. The students will play apps such as abcmouse, hooked on phonics, and be given the opportunity to hear books read aloud to them. I'd also like to use the iPad for group projects. This would be great for projects such as allowing groups to listening to a different story and then illustrating the sequence, main idea, or just a retelling of the story. Then each group could present their work to the other groups. The iPad would really enhance our learning and provide endless ways of learning.
These iPads will provide endless new learning opportunities.
It will make learning fun and exciting. It will also provide opportunities to use new technology that many of my students might not get the opportunity to experience. It will be a positive experience that they will never forget. It will help to engage them in learning.
