My students need two iPads and cases in the classroom to make learning more relevant and accessible to them. In today's world of technology, students are used to using such devices.
Can you survive a day without technology at your fingertips? Most of us could not because we have grown accustomed to having information in the click of a button. Why not bring this into the classroom? I believe using iPads can make learning Reading and Langauge more relevant in today's world.
My students are 9 and 10 years old in fourth grade.
Fourth graders love to find new information and answers to their questions. My students are always up for a challenge! My classroom provides an environment where students work together in small groups. Our school is in a small rural community. My students have access to 4 desktop computers with internet in the classroom. They love using the internet to research topics, but four computers is not enough for a class of 25!
My Project
I believe bringing iPads into the classroom will make learing more relevant and hands-on. I would use the iPads within my class groups to facilitate research on the internet. My students could also use the iPads to help them with skills that they are struggling with by using hundreds of available apps. The students could work cooperatively within their groups using an iPad to help with research, presentations, and notekeeping. The possibilities are endless!
I truly believe that by providing iPads in my classroom, my students would benefit greatly.
They will be able to increase their knowledge of technology in this quickly changing world. These skills will help them in their future endeavors such as college and the work place.
