I teach a first grade special education inclusion class of 20 eager-to-learn students who come from civilian and military families of varying income levels, ethnic backgrounds, and home-life situations.

My students thrive when given opportunities to explore their interests via the use of iPads. However, we currently must share a cart of 10 iPads with 5 other 1st grade classes.

My Project

Currently, my students have daily access to three desktop computers, but can only utilize iPads once a week. Achieving access to two more iPads will greatly increase small-group instruction. It will allow each student in the group to have access to either a computer or iPad, leading to deeper learning.

These extra two devices will greatly enhance learning opportunities on a daily basis, as each student will have access to interactive web sites/apps to support literacy, math, and science/social studies instruction.

Please help me put a device in the hands of each child!
