Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have been part of an English/Spanish Dual Immersion program since they were in kindergarten. They are bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. They can speak, read, and write in both languages with fluency. They are caring and respectful of different cultures and people. They know that being bilingual is an asset in our global society. I’m confident that our future is in good hands with such thoughtful and caring scholars. Their curiosity is contagious and I am honored to be their teacher. Fifth grade was my favorite school year as a child, and I hope they enjoy their last year in elementary school as much as I did!
My Project
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, my school has opted for all virtual learning until January 2021. On August 1, 2020, I started virtual teaching from my home. I love my students and will do anything in my power to provide them with a positive and enriching educational experience, but in order to do so, I need the necessary tools and resources. Please support me in giving my students the educational experience they deserve by helping me purchase the laptop desk, lamp, and chair that I need in order to make my dining area look, feel, and seem like a classroom. I want my students to imagine and feel that I am right there with them every step of the way, guiding and helping them throughout their learning process.
