it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help my students want to learn more about college and I don't have to supplies I need to get them there.
Most of my students are in the middle. What I mean by the middle is that some of there parents went to college and some did not. When I started teaching at this school the 9th graders did not see why they should be thinking about college so early. With the unit I teach about college is gets my interest and wanting to learn more about the different schools out there.
The supplies I need for my students are for projects they do in class. One of the students favorite project is college. The students are put into groups and pick a college of there chose to research. After research the college on the computers, calling school and watching different college videos the students make posters and present the information they found to the rest of the students in the class. It is so fun to see all of the students interest in college. This lesson goes with the college unit in life skills and avid.
My students love this lesson but they hate that I do not have good, if any art supplies for them to use on their posters. Some of me students bring what they have from home to share with the class but I would love to have some supplies for them. Please help my students and me!
