This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The first grade students will be learning about different careers during our schoolwide career week. Our class focus is food service. They will learn how a coffee shop operates.

They will have the opportunity to make coffee, use a cash register and serve customers.

Career Day gives students an up-close look at different career paths and connects their learning to the real world. Before the pandemic, community members and leaders came into the classroom to share insights about their career and details about necessary education and training for career success. Since Covid-19 we are not allowed to have school visitors so we had to come up with a different plan. We have centers set up with different hands on experiences.
