Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am brand new to teaching Technology/STEM for grades K-5, and I moved into an empty computer lab last year with bare brick walls, no literature, no manipulatives, and an unwelcoming feel. Everything in the room is gray, and there are no windows or natural light.

I would like to add some motivational elements such as colorful lighting, a motivational poster featuring Steve Jobs, and some makerspace building kits for students when the internet is down, or computers are not available.

I teach a GATE enrichment class after school, and I know they would love the new books, paints and STEM building kits as well. Lastly, I ordered stickers to reward students for their typing test achievements-they love to personalize their laptops.

Thank you for helping me transform a sad empty room into a place where children look forward to visiting for STEM education! My students love to engineer and build and I am happy to provide a space for them where they get to exercise these important skills.
