Exceptional student education while teaching multiple grade levels at one time requires a variety of resources that are engaging to a wide variety of ages and skill levels.
My Project
We have been utilizing STEM Bins/Work Tubs since the middle of the year last year. I have been slowly building these resources through activities I have purchased out of pocket. The materials in this project would be used to open more options for students to utilize.
Coding, manipulatives, and building activities encourage cooperative learning, creative thinking, and an opportunity for language development.
The majority of my students have language impairments. Work Tubs done with a partner or small group encourages my students who are often not comfortable talking in a whole group setting to have an opportunity to interact with their peers using social and academic language.
My students that struggle the most with academic concepts are often the students that have an opportunity to "SHINE" during work tub time. They are able to offer ideas in a safe and engaging setting creating a learning environment that opens new doors for them.
