My students absolutely love them and it's a fantastic way to bring current events into their lives. These magazines have a wonderful online content. There is everything from preplanned lessons to activities the students can do to build academic skills with high interest materials. There is even an online platform the students can get to so they can share these resources with their families. There is often an activity that they can do at home to deepen their understanding. These articles provide me with high interest reading material which is easily adapted to the needs of students in my multi-grade classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1764719051668,"projectUrl":"project/scholastic-news-for-success/9612618/","projectTitle":"Scholastic News for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dillahay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp807307_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490239996976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/807307"},{"teacherId":807307,"projectId":9612815,"letterContent":"My students have been ENORMOUSLY benefitted by this class set of noise cancelling headphones. After a while, our old ones were falling apart. They were starting to break and my students often rely on them to help them participate in events across campus where the extra noise can easily create a feeling of being overwhelmed. We've used them to attend school assemblies, field trips, and even just to use day to day when a peer is struggling to manage big emotions. We have even tried them on as staff and they are AMAZING at blocking things out when it just seems like your nervous system needs a break from the noise. Thank you for providing resources that allow my students to participate in school/grade level experiences, but also to just manage throughout the day in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758801181753,"projectUrl":"project/make-it-stop/9612815/","projectTitle":"Make It Stop!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dillahay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp807307_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490239996976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/807307"},{"teacherId":807307,"projectId":6573170,"letterContent":"This project has had an impact on not just my classrooms, but students in other classrooms as well. As I build the resources I have available to teach these (desperately needed) social skills, I have also been able to share the resources with our behavior specialist and other teachers to build these skills across campus. \r\n\r\nI've noticed a huge change in how my students interact with one another. They are quick to check in with a peer who is feeling sad or has been injured, but I've also noticed them celebrating the successes of their peers. When a student earns a point or has a moment of academic celebration for growth they verbalize positive comments to the other student. These resources have been so helpful in developing strategies and resources for my multi-grade (Kindergarten through 5th grades) classroom to adapt the lessons for the developmental levels of my students.
