Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Making learning fun and engaging, while meeting the state standards, is my ultimate goal for all of my students in the learning resource center at our school, grades K-5. I have purchased a reading curriculum that has a scope and sequence to cover all the grade levels that I will be serving. The idea is that the students will be able to have repetitive learning centers that are engaging and fun. I have play-doh, dry erase, sand boxes, magnetic wands and am wanting to add to the engagement. Color ink is super expensive and we do not have access at school to print.

I need bright colored papers to print the games and learning activities on.

Adding the use of Astrobright paper will continue to add a little spark to their fun. I need laminating supplies to make the lessons durable and envelopes to store them in. I need envelopes to categorize each lesson to the standard and file folders.

I want to also add a couple of Connect Four games to the learning. I am planning on adding mini pictures to each chip. Students can practice phonemic awareness and say sounds, delete sounds or rhyme. I can add sight word practice as well. I watched the engagement in another classroom using this game and the kids were totally participating.

Please help me get these materials to create fun and engaging learning with our students.

I believe that helping each child at their level, builds self confidence. I believe this helps with social emotional skill and mental health. Thank you for helping me get these basic materials for the classroom.
