Sometimes, we pay from our paychecks; sometimes, we have donors like you to help! Last year, I returned to first grade, the grade where I first discovered my love of teaching. The water bottle stickers, mini resin animals, colorful paper, and fidgets are giving students fun ways to personalize their projects and choose items that represent their interests and personalities. Students are excited to create drawings, write letters to their future selves, and include special keepsakes that capture who they are right now. Watching their excitement as they choose their materials and imagine opening their time capsules years from now has been such a special classroom moment.\r\n\r\nThis project is about so much more than putting items into a container—it is about helping children recognize their own growth and understand that the little moments of childhood are worth remembering. Our next steps are to finish our letters and drawings, reflect on what we have learned and accomplished, and carefully seal our time capsules to be reopened when students graduate in 11 years.
