I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Hygiene!!

Help me give my students hygiene supplies. Having caddies, brushes, wash clothes and tooth brushes will be great for our Daily Living class.

My Students

I am a Special Education Teacher in an urban, public neighborhood middle school in Erie, PA. The children and families in our school community are a diverse cross-section of many different cultures, ethnic groups, and languages. We are a low-income school district and all our students receive free or reduced-price lunches.

When working with young people, there are times you see results in ten seconds, and there are times you won't see them for ten years.

My Project

I teach middle school Life Skills students. Having these hygiene supplies will be great for my students. My assistant and I will be able to incorporate a daily living lesson. We will help explain good hygiene and personal care to our kiddos. It will also be nice having the shower caddies for our pool days. The students will be able to put all their toiletries in the caddies. Some of our students don't have these basic toiletries at home, so knowing we can provide them with these essentials is a great feeling.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
