My students need a new carpet in the classroom this year. My students spend 80% of their day on the rug; singing, dancing, learning and playing. I have not had a replacement rug in 6yrs.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are one of a kind. They walk into the classroom and all I see are these smiling faces and all I can hear are them talking to each other about their time at home. They come into the room so happy and eager to learn. I love when they ask me how my night was and if I missed them. The truth is, I sure do!
My students love to come to school and are eager to learn new and exciting things.
It makes me happy that parents tell me that they don't like to be absent because they will miss morning songs and my funny jokes. I'm happy my students feel happy and safe in our classroom. Our classroom becomes their second home and I love that!
Our school is a Title I school and 100 percent of the children get free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students' parents are non-English speaking and low income. Our school does their best to offer them various free programs to help them and their children with food, clothing and medical care.
My Project
Having a new rug in the classroom will definetly brighten up the room and be appealing to my new students. I spend a lot of the school day up in the front of the classroom teaching and the children are sitting on the rug. The children need a clean new rug to sit on this year.
My students love to sing, dance, build things, and learn with their friends and classmates on the rug.
Having a clean, new, fresh and sanitary rug will be amazing! Nothing makes children happier than seeing a new bright rug to start the school year as new kindergartners!!
