I Need My Own Seat!

My Students

Hello! I am Ms. H, a music teacher in the heart of Oklahoma City. I am teaching the entirety of my school how to enjoy music-one class at a time!

My students come from all walks of life-literally!

They are from different neighborhoods, different cultures, and even different countries. These students are learning to love music through singing, playing, and listening to different examples of music from all over the world. From Latin America to Japan, we are learning what binds us all together-music!

I want my students to learn to love music; music changed my life for the better, and passing on that gift is the least I can do for them.

My Project

While playing an instrument, it is imperative that a student have correct posture. Right now all my kids are using benches; this makes instruments like the saxophone hard to play correctly. If each student had their own chair, many hand and spine problems would be fixed.

On top of posture issues, chairs would allow us to move into small groups or change the setup more easily.

Right now I am limited to one setup, and I would like my setup to reflect the needs of the students.

Please consider helping each of my students reach their potential. Without these chairs, they are at a major disadvantage; they will have to compensate for poor posture and have to relearn how to play their instrument down the road. I don't want to have to do that to my students.
