My students need new and interesting books to read, as well as clear tote trays to easily find and access these books.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students don't like reading. I know they'll like reading once they find texts that interest them and are written in ways they can understand and enjoy.
The wonderful students at my school enjoy video games and gossip.
They like science fiction, realistic fiction, and stories about family relationships. My students enjoy literature when we discuss how it relates to them, but often find it difficult to enjoy a book without a class discussion surrounding it.
My Project
I'm requesting high interest books at challenging, though appropriate, reading levels. To compliment the new texts, and integrate them into the class library, I am also requesting book bins. I can use these bins to organize the library's books by genre. This way students can view reading on a deeper level, and see the relationships between topics, authors, and the purposes for writing (and reading).
This project will help students enjoy the deep thinking it will take to be successful in life (and on standardized tests).
When students love to read, they'll love to contemplate cause and effect, description, persuasion, and fascinating factual information. The more they read, students will develop an understanding of the human condition, and therefore become sensitive and altruistic people who care about their communities and their futures.
