This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My dear students are eager readers. I want to enhance students' language skills by exposing them to books in both English and Spanish. Bilingualism has cognitive, academic, and socio-cultural benefits. Reading in two languages fosters language proficiency and a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.

The objectives of creating this bilingual reading and art project are multi-faceted, aiming to promote language development, family engagement, creativity, and a love for literature.

To encourage parents or relatives to actively participate in their child's education by reading together in both languages. Family involvement is crucial for academic success. Engaging in shared reading activities at home strengthens the parent-child bond and creates a positive learning environment.

To promote an appreciation for diverse cultures and languages. Reading books in multiple languages exposes students to different cultural perspectives and helps them develop a global mindset.

Artistic activities foster creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression. Connecting the art project to the book enhances comprehension and interpretation skills.

Incentivizing my students, such as receiving 3D animal toys, can serve as positive reinforcement, encouraging them to complete the project and participate enthusiastically.
