My Students
Aloha! My students are from the beautiful island of Oahu. Here in our school our students live in a more rural beach community that prides itself on family, culture, and togetherness. Our student population includes a variety of wonderful characters and personalities. Each student has a range of unique needs that we work on in the special education classroom such as socialization, behavior regulation, and peer interactions in addition to their academic learning. This year will be fully in-person learning and I would like to provide the best learning environment for my students to continue to be successful.
My Project
Our students need movement breaks in order to be successful in our academic blocks. Often most of our students will sit and be unsure of how to play with one another. Our class will benefit from the structured activities such as outdoor bowling and exercise cards to help guide them on how to play.
Outdoor games and creative ways of incorporating movement will help keep our students active outdoors.
My plan is to use the exercise cards to create movement stations. These stations loaded with a variety of activities will help student get out their pent up energy and be ready to learn in the classroom.
