Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

It's the beginning of a new school year!!! I have just met some of the most amazing students. They are smart, caring, courageous, and full of energy. They came to school today full of questions, ideas, and ready to learn, and ready to READ.

I am an avid reader, and I have scholars who are excited about the books we will explore this school year.

I want my students to have everything they need in order to be successful this school year. Especially books!!!!

Our school is a Title I school, which means that the majority of our students are on free and reduced-price lunch. Because of this, they are considered "at risk." I truly believe that this phrase simply means they may need a little extra push because these students have a true desire and drive to succeed.

Every single student deserves the opportunity to participate fully in the joy that can be found in a good book. These items will help us dive into books with a listening center, and books to enhance our classroom library. I look forward to having a new group of students that I can spread the joy of reading with.

My Project

I love to read!!! I love books!!! I want to help spread the joy of getting lost in a good book with my scholars.

The items that I have chosen will help my scholars enjoy listening to and reading good books.

During our station time, I want my scholars to have the opportunity to not only read interesting books but also listen to interesting titles.

There is nothing like curling up with a good book, and with your help, I will be able to provide a wonderful space for my scholars to listen and read. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
