My Students

Nestled in the heart of the central valley of CA, our school serves children from a variety of cultures and various incomes. Our school strives to providea strong sense of community for our students.

First Graders are FULL of personality!

They come to school brimming over with excitement. You can't help but smile when you walk into a 1st grade classroom. It's full of excitement, giggles and activity. Their enthusiasm for learning is infectious and teaching them, though hard, is so rewarding.

This age is marked by tremendous growth and curiosity. My students love learning and my charge is to build LIFE LONG learners........students who love to read.

My Project

Children learn by reading. Research confirms that the more contact students have with books the more successful they will be in their education. I believe that a classroom library is the heartbeat of a learning environment and that they play a key role in increasing student motivation, engagement and achievement.

Quality classroom libraries must be stocked with high quality, high interest books that reflect diversity and current topics that span a range of difficulty.

By providing additional books with a variety of genres to my classroom library, my students will be able to choose books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. By donating to our project you will help support my students as they develop a lifelong love of reading.
