"Knowledge, like air, is vital to life. Like air, no one should be denied it." -Alan Moore. I teach gifted and talented students at a Title I, high-needs school. Students in my school struggle financially. Most receive free breakfast and lunch. They deserve to have access to various types of technology.
My students are creative, bright, and talented.
They love to write, solve logic puzzles, research, and draw. My students are a diverse group of learners who are very curious and often challenging. They ask a great deal of questions often pointing out inaccuracies and ambiguities. They do not back down from a challenge. Incorporating technology into lessons as much as possible is critical in creating interesting and engaging lessons for this gifted group of students.
My Project
My gifted students are eager to excel and give their best efforts every day. An iPad will help to enhance their learning by giving them access to digital books, apps for research and creating interactive projects, such as powerpoint presentations, movies, brochures, and more.
An iPad will also expose my students to the iOs11 operating system which is necessary to be successful in the 21st Century.
This technology will reach students where they are. We will use the iPad for literacy and math activities. They will research a variety of topics independently use online dictionaries and thesauruses to refine their writings and read novels and stories online. Additionally, by using an iPad in the classroom, my students will learn how to use various apps and technology responsibly and safely. They will become lifelong learners in an increasingly technological world.
