Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in the city of Springfield. Many come from low-income families and do not have money for school supplies. My students are smart, outgoing, and excited to learn.
I want my students to be able to create something that will be so exciting and interesting that it causes other students to ask them about the subject knowledge.
I want to be able to watch my students explain what they have learned to other students in a way that inspires other students to learn about the same subject.
My Project
I have fifty students that are in my classroom throughout the day. They love to read! I have asked them what books they would like to add to their classroom library and then added them to this project.
I have also added a few books that have been "loved" so much they need to be replaced; they are falling apart.
I have added disinfecting wipes so that I can wipe down surfaces in the library that are often touched. My students love to sit in the pink chair or on the rug and read in the library. I have added a watering ball to keep the plant that is in the library alive during vacation times when no can is in my classroom to water it.
