I Hear and I Remember

Help me give my students the earbuds they need to successfully learn through digital education. We have also requested just a few sets of headphones with microphones to allow us to include voice work in digital projects.

My Students

The school district I teach in strives to be a "world class" district. through relationships, rigor and relevance daily. We challenge our students in every way possible. Technology is most certainly relevant to our students' daily lives now and will be even more so in the future.

More than a third of my 56 fifth-graders come from low-income households, and I teach many military children; these students face a greater number of challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, I strive to engage and motivate all my students so they will be college, career and life ready.

My Project

Our students need headphones. We use Discovery Education, Compass Odyssey and Quizlet, just to name a few of the digital resources we utilize for instruction.

Our students are unable to hear on these apps due to the lack of headphones, which are cost prohibitive for families of our many low-income students.

A good portion of our class period is spent utilizing technology. Imagine my 28 students (per class) sitting in a room all trying to hear the instructional video they've been assigned. No one is able to fully hear and learn because everyone is online at once. A pair of headphones for each student would allow everyone maximum learning opportunity.
