Help me give my students these new language materials to continue growing and developing their communication abilities. I intentionally selected materials that can be taken apart and used in a variety of activities.
I work with a unique group of kids whom all have a communication deficiency in language development or their articulation of speech. Some of the children I work with have limited or no verbal language skills. Recently we have made incredible progress with these kids and new materials and activities can insure that this progress continues!
It is incredible to see the look on a child’s face when you take out new exciting materials which they are able to recognize and understand.
As their engagement increases so does their vocabulary and overall language development. Please help me in supporting these students and insuring they not only understand language but have fun communicating.
My Project
These materials have an abundance of resources such as visual cues and flash cards that I can use in the token/game board format but also in interactive and engaging activities which I create. These are materials that I can scale up or down for the different skill levels.
If this project is fully funded, we will be giving children who have a difficulty formulating sentences or with no verbal communication skills a voice.
It has become very important to find materials that will help to expand the children’s expressive vocabulary but that the material is also easy for them to comprehend. These games and stories promote participation and interactions with peers and teachers.
Every child deserves to be heard and have the ability to play and participate with a group.These items will give children who have limited language the ability to answer questions and participate in activities. The students' vocabulary continues to grow and so does the need for more modified material, to better accommodate their communication needs. The materials that have been requested will also be used to develop the children's social awareness. They will practice taking turns and encouraging peers. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
