This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need pencils to be successful in 5th grade. We use pencils every day with everything that we do. My students brought a package of pencils at the beginning of the year but that does not last long.

Pencils are critical in math, students use them to show their thinking without worrying about making mistakes.

Having 66 students a day, I go through so many pencils. Many of my students come from impoverished homes and have little access to school supplies. Having pencils ready to use will save so much time and increase learning.
