This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in the Dual Language Immersion Program learning in both English and Spanish. They are hard-working and strive to do their best. Their parents are supportive of their education and encourage them to do well in order to have better opportunities that they themselves may not have had.

My students are curious about technology and Science.

At this age, their eagerness to learn about these topics is an opportunity that as their teacher I want to take advantage of.

My Project

The majority of my students are visual learners. In order to address this learning style in my classroom, I would like a document camera. This device would allow my students to see a picture or page clearly displayed on a white board. This will allow them to easily follow along with me and stay focused on the task at hand.

Having clear access to the material I am referencing while teaching a lesson will make all the difference.

I have magazine and newspaper articles that I use when teaching informational text, but the students don't have their own copy. For this reason, a document camera will be very beneficial.
