Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school with many at risk students. Many lack basic essentials. This is where, here at school, we try to close that gap. Our staff helps families with a food closet in the parking lot. The sign simply says, "Take what you need, and give what you can". This is but one example of closing that gap.
I am proud of our students.
They look out for one another and those that have help those that don't have in such a heartwarming and discreet way. My classes become a family very quickly at the beginning of the year. My students respond to relationships, nonjudgmental listening, and guidance.

My Project
Each and every teacher uses technology in the classroom. From Google classroom, to Kahoot, to simply viewing an instructional video to introduce a new skill or reteach a skill, technology is a must. These programs, broadcast to a white board from the teacher's computer, typically have a sound component, and that's why I am making this request.
Hurricane Harvey took possession of most of the computer speaker sets we had on campus.
What few we have are shared and passed around. It would be so nice to save time and energy from seeking out a set of speakers to use.
When our teachers have what they need to teach, they can spend more time teaching! These speakers will be put to good use to benefit our students.
