My Students

I teach at a public, virtual school. My district recognized that all students learn differently and that by offering students the option to learn from home, they are giving families a safe alternative to in-person learning. I am thrilled to be a part of this ground breaking school. My students come from all backgrounds but the one thing they have in common is that their families want the best education for them.

My students come from varying economic situations, living accommodations and learning abilities; I want to provide an equitable learning experience for all my students.

Because of the dynamics in our virtual classroom, our school is looking for the best way to educate every student at their level.

I am excited about the prospect of moving beyond what we currently have and creating new opportunities to learn.

My Project

Students that are learning to read are embarking on an adventure that can take them anywhere they want to go. Reading can take them to the future, the past, or reflect what is happening today.

I want my students to see themselves in the books they read.

I want them to see their heritage and culture represented in positive and unifying ways. I want them to recognize that they can do or become anything they want to be. It is important for every child to feel safe, included and welcomed.

I want all of my students to know that they are an important part of our classroom story.
