Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young and energetic! They come to school with the determination to learn and make friends. They are caring and strong. Our school is in an urban area.

Many of my students live in poverty.

They struggle with having basic necessities, along with school supplies. Sometimes school is a place of refuge. They enjoy helping each other and me!

My students have continuously taught me just as much, if not more than I have taught them this year.

They have taught me, unconditional love, that young people can be so supportive, and that success can be achieved with nothing more than determination and much more. I have such a great group of students!

My Project

The books I have requested will be used when my students read independently and during my guided reading lessons. They will help my students practice skills that I have taught and will boost their confidence in reading.

Many of my students are English Language Learners and these books will support their learning by focusing on specific skills that my students need to master to become capable readers, such as word families.

My students try so hard to read and these books will make it easier for them. Thank you so much for your consideration.
