My students are faced every day with challenges at school and outside of school that could prevent them from getting a quality education, however, I am a teacher that doesn't let those challenges become excuses. They are some of the brightest and most eager students I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.
I expect the best from my students and they rise to my expectations every time.
My students are curious and even though their reading skills are below level they love learning and they love to read. I am so excited to provide them with any and every opportunity to grow in confidence and boost their character and self-esteem.
My students are lacking in some skills that are hindering them from becoming skilled readers. I want to provide every opportunity for them to be exposed to all kinds of learning. They already love going to the listening center and I am wanting to provide not only a story to listen to but practice in building necessary reading skills in a fun way. They will be interacting with each other with these listening centers and talking about their learning while listening and learning to follow directions, which also a necessary skill to acquire, especially as third graders. These listening centers will provide interactive teamwork as well as individual accountability during our literacy station work time.
