Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you are five, you learn by doing, playing and moving. You can help my Kindergarten students to find joy in learning basic skills, while doing hands-on, independent and small group activities.

Our school serves a neighborhood with high poverty.

We offer breakfast and lunch free of cost to all students in our school. Many children are lacking basic essentials at home, and come to school with many needs. Most students in my class have had no previous school experience. I want my Kindergarten classroom to be an active and joyful learning environment.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will give my students opportunities to practice the basic pre-reading skills they need to learn, such as learning the alphabet, the sounds the letters make, and rhyming. The learning centers and activities will give them the practice with fun, engaging, hands-on, independent or small group activities. These will also provide opportunities for social development, and problem solving.

Your help to fund this project will support the learning of literacy skills of Kindergarten children, who come from homes and families that are experiencing many difficulties.

The children need positive, active experiences in school, and need a variety of materials to support their learning. Please help me give my students these opportunities!
