My Students
Never underestimate the hearts of kids who want to learn. We may be a Title I school, but we work hard and try our very best to achieve our goals in my classroom. They have hearts of gold and their smiles go on for days. Their hearts share the same color of their school and no one can take that away from them. They come from tough neighborhoods but you wouldn't know it from their smiles. They all work hard.
My Project
My students work on a reading intervention program called Achieve3000 that requires them to read an article and answer questions along with it. This program increases their reading levels as well as improves their vocabulary. The program gives them an opportunity to hear the vocabulary when they feel the words are too difficult to pronounce. They can hear it and improve their vocabulary.
I want my students to have the confidence to read and to extend their vocabulary as much as possible.
After Hurricane Harvey, my students have become less confident and I want to build up my students' confidence. With these headphones, they won't feel discouraged to push the audio button and become more poised and assertive in their intervention journey.
