This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are attending a title 1 school. The students are at risk. In most cases below level readers. They want to work hard and learn however, they tend to learn using a more hands on approach. By getting games that are hands on will allow them to practice skills needed to increase their knowledge base. I would love to have the “can do” activities for for my classroom this fall. As my students are below level, I would use both sets.
My Project
My students will benefit by using the “Can Do” activities hands on materials to increase their learning. They are wonderful students who need more hands on activities. My students need lots of repetitive practice. These activities will allow them to practice basic skills that they lack while having fun. By allowing my students the gift of play while learning they will have a greater ability to pass the standardized tests at the end of the year. The storage packs will give them more room to keep materials at their desks. This will allow them to work more efficiently keeping materials needed close without using valuable time to go and get materials.
