This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my school are in need of some additional tools to survive this pandemic! I’m an unorthodox teacher who pushes students to their limits! My students are special because they’re in a middle of a pandemic and still come to school in-person, knowing people have died in their family from COVID. My students are resilient because they are committed to learning. My students are just kids who need, extra love!

My Project

I have the pleasure of teaching a computer-based course where my students have failed because of the pandemic. All students want technology and gadgets like they see on the internet. They want to earn a cool prize for an accomplishment. The students placed in my classroom have failed 5-8 classes this school year. These babies just need some incentives to motivate them during these hard times. These are young people who are lost and just need to find their way back to their education and future aspirations in life. I’m requesting these items for “Fun Friday”. Every time a student has completed a course, their name will be placed on the wheel. We will spin the wheel for weekly incentives, the ones that I’m requesting. I hope these items will motivate them to continue learning and continue to work hard for themselves because they are our future! My goal for these items is to help motivate them to finish their “failed courses” and complete their grade level. The goal is to help these COVID kids past high school! As an adult, I have no clue how these kids see or value education. I'm requesting these items to help motivate them not to drop out of high school and attend a vocational school or community college. It's the small incentives that make a difference in a kid's life!
