My Students
My students defy the daily societal statistics of African-American youth in inner-city urban communities. In my classroom, students have the liberty to freely express themselves through music and arts culture. These early learners possess energy, enthusiasm, motivation and have great aspirations for their future, or as they would say:" When we "grow up." I enjoy working with them because I know I literally make a difference. My classroom incorporates restorative practice methods that meet the academic, social and holistic needs of students in my classroom and neighborhood community.
My Project
The materials requested will allow students to enjoy their classroom learning experiences. Some students come from households that cannot afford basic school supplies in order for students to participate in daily classroom assignments and activities.
Serving as a music and technology teacher, I like to provide students with hands-on exercises that will make their learning experiences fun.
Restorative practice approaches help build the academic and holistic confidence needed to be successful in society.
Students will be able to complete various S.T.E.A.M activities using technology resources. I currently serve at a 21st Century school, which provides access to education through blended learning.
My educational philosophy is: "Your success is my business."
