My Students

Students love computers and coming to my room to learn about the different aspects of STEM, they can be who they really want to be.

My school is a Title I school, and the majority of the students come from low-income homes or live in shelters. They cannot afford the basics needed for school, and I cannot ask them to pay for them.

My Project

Many of the students within my school building arrive without eating breakfast and can't afford to bring snacks for recess. Even in the computer lab, I hear, "I am hungry" or "I don't feel well". This is very heart wrenching to hear this. When they are hungry or complain of stomach pains, they become distracted and irritable

These snacks will fill my student's stomachs, help them refocus, and make sure they are ready to learn.

On top of having snacks, we like to keep the lab clean and without germs. The students like to wipe down the tables before they sit down, so they know their area is clean. Also by doing this, it will keep the attendance up and, of course the learning and test scores will benefit from healthy and happy students.
