My Students

Do you remember your days in elementary school? Well, I do, and nothing stands out for me. At our school, we create a new environment where our students are proud to say where they attend. Our students have a sense of school pride and community. My students are very eager to come to school​ and learn.

Our students attend a Title I school where all of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Many of our students have economic​ hardships, yet come to school each day and give their all. Many of our students experience things that are out of their control and seek help from me, their school counselor. This is literally all hands on deck! This year is a challenging year for everyone, but it has taught us to slow down and focus on what matters.

My Project

Every year my school runs out of hygiene products for the students that need them. When my students are more focused on the lack of hygiene products they have and not their academics, we begin to see the achievement gap grow even wider. I want to make sure that my students who need these products have them available.

I see all two hundred and ninety-five students every week for character education classes and being able to have these resources available to them, is of the utmost importance.

Also, being able to provide to my students who need these hygiene products is extremely vital. This will help my students stay focused on their academics, social-emotional learning, behavior, and making friends. These products include lotion, body wash, brushes, and combs. Thank you for choosing my project and helping to support my students.
