My classroom is in a selective enrollment math and science academy on the south side of Chicago. My students are historically underrepresented but are highly motivated, and love to explore topics in great detail.
My students love to engage with the world around them, and push themselves to do amazing things in their science classroom.
I want my students to be able to explore science and foster their curiosity for the world around them. This is difficult at times with the supplies we have.
My Project
There are times during the school year when students do not come to school with all of the items they need. Sometimes it is feminine products, sometimes it is snacks.
I want to be able to provide a place for students to access these products if they need.
This project will provide my classroom with the supplies needed to fulfill this need for the majority of this next school year.
These supplies are basic, but they go a long way to help students feel comfortable in the classroom. Helping students feel comfortable in school allows them to focus on learning.
