This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Personal hygiene is critical to staying self and healthy. Usually, my scholars have access to hygiene products that I provide for them in the classroom, and we do frequent lessons on the importance of personal hygiene. I have a hygiene corner, where students are able to take any hygiene products they need at home without being asked any embarrassing questions.

Many male and female scholars do not have access to an adequate supply of personal hygiene products, which is affecting their health, their confidence, and their ability to focus on academic tasks.

This grant would provide the hygiene products necessary to keep my students well-groomed and germ-free. My scholars are continuing to engage in personal hygiene lessons during distance learning, but some of them have expressed that they do not have access to the required hygiene items at home. It would make my students' day and lift their spirits to be able to give them hygiene products.
