Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school has mostly low-income scholars that face unique challenges, particularly during physical education (PE) classes, where access to hygiene products is crucial for their comfort and participation. The hygiene closet I propose will provide essential items like deodorant, pads, and other toiletries, ensuring our scholars can fully engage in PE without feeling self-conscious or uncomfortable.
By having access to these hygiene products, our scholars can participate in PE activities with confidence, focusing on improving their physical health and well-being.
This directly impacts their learning experience, as physical activity plays a vital role in academic success and overall development.
Our goals for this project extend beyond merely providing hygiene products. We aim to create an inclusive environment where all scholars feel supported and empowered to participate in physical activities without hesitation. Additionally, we seek to promote health education and hygiene awareness, instilling lifelong habits that contribute to our scholars' overall well-being.
What makes our scholars special is their resilience and determination. Despite facing economic hardships, they approach each day with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. They deserve every opportunity to excel, unimpeded by obstacles beyond their control. Providing a hygiene closet for PE class is just one way we can support them on their journey to success.
