This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Join me in funding a hydroponic system project for my agriculture class! As I prepare to teach agriculture to 6th through 8th-grade students next year, I am excited about introducing this unit to our middle school students. I aim to demonstrate to them that gardening and growing food are possible, even without outdoor spaces or nutrient-rich soil.
Your contribution towards my project would play a significant role in introducing a new perspective on agriculture and food production to the next generation.
My goals for this project are centered around making effective decisions to produce the highest crop yield through hydroponics. I will educate students on the importance of alternative food production methods. I will teach them how to nurture plants and maintain optimal pH levels to enhance productivity. This project will allow students to choose and cultivate crops of their preference in a garden setting.
At GSA, our students stand out for their innovativeness, thirst for knowledge, fascination with science and technology, and the unwavering support they receive from both parents and teachers. This nurturing environment enables them to start envisioning and building their future from an early age.
I have carefully planned to incorporate 8 hydroponic systems into the project to encourage collaborative group work among students, providing them with hands-on experience. Moreover, a variety of seeds have been included to allow students the freedom to select what they wish to grow. Essential supplies such as fertilizers, pH management tools, and growing materials have also been procured to ensure the adoption of best practices in our hydroponic systems.
All these components come together to form a comprehensive and engaging project that will serve as the focal point of our classroom activities. Your support and contributions towards this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
