My Project

My population of students, we call them scholars, are primarily from underserved, economically fragile families. They live in a section of town where healthy foods and beverages are not readily available. We call it a food desert. My students are ages 6 months to 6 years.

I want to help lay the foundation for healthy food and drink choices, starting at this young age.

When children grow up drinking sugary beverages, it sets them up to prefer these tastes, and it ruins their appetite for healthier drinks and snacks.

I want to encourage our scholars to choose water, and having it readily available in cool water bottles in class is a great way to start. Please help me provide the gift of hydration for healthier bodies and minds!
