This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are A LOT of resources that children need to be happy, healthy, and educated. Sometimes, the simplest ones are the most overlooked. In my classroom, students constantly complain about being thirsty. While we ask students to plan accordingly, that doesn't always happen. Many of my students want reusable water bottles, but aren't able to get them at home. A trip to the water fountain during lunch isn't enough to stay hydrated throughout the entire day. We will send our students to the water fountain during class if they need it, but the water fountain in our hall is out of commission. Students have to walk to the other side of the building or to another floor to drink water. Each trip is a few minutes of learning time lost. It doesn't seem like much, but then multiply it by every student, every day!

For the holidays this year, our hope would be to gift a reusable water bottle to every student so they can stay hydrated all day long.

Reusable water bottles will cut down on trips to the water fountain and, most importantly, fuel our students to learn. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. We appreciate your consideration for our project!
