My Students
It is always a joy for me to see the children come enthusiastically into the classroom at the kickoff of a new school year. In second grade, everyone is eager to learn how to read! My young scholars have various learning styles and a wide range of learning abilities.
Most of my children speak Spanish with English as a second language.
Many of my parents are only Spanish-speaking. Second grade is one of the building blocks for the rest of their lives.
My Project
I have had to provide my students with water bottles each and every day. After about a week of going through one too many plastic bottles, I decided that there had to be a better way to keep my students' thirst quenched throughout the day.
Water bottles will allow my students to access water throughout the day with an option to refill when needed.
Using water bottles will reduce the waste caused from plastic bottles. Having a readily available cup will also limit disruption, allowing students to "take a sip" throughout the day.
