My students need educational games that will provide them the hands-on learning experience they needed to be successful in the classroom and headphones to help them focus in when completing interactive lessons on the computers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are outgoing and eager to learn new things every day. They love to learn new content through hands-on activities with their classmates. With the effects of Hurricane Maria, we have students coming in from Puerto Rico with little to no English knowledge, and it is my responsibility to support them in every way possible for them to be successful.
We are a K to 5th grade Title I elementary school with 400+ children, and we are receiving students regularly from Puerto Rico.
All students receive free breakfast and/or lunch. We are a proactive school with several before and after-school tutoring and community outreach programs. Our students' families struggle financially, but everyone is dedicated to helping our parents provide for their children.
The educators and support staff are amazing in their dedication and determination to make a difference in the lives of our students. Our goal is to give each student the very best education and the best support possible at all times. We will not fail in our mission, and our students share our determination to succeed!
My Project
My students love to learn through hands-on activities. They enjoy working as a team to solve problems but also like to be challenged by their fellow peers.
We have welcomed new students from Puerto Rico after the damaging effects Hurricane Maria had on their homes and families.
With the Educational Insights Hot Dots reading and language activities, I am able to differentiate my centers based on my students' phonics and reading needs. For my students who have little to no English knowledge, I am able to have them work with the High-Frequency Words Card set and know that they are able to self-check with the Hot-Dots pen. For my students who come to my classroom knowing English, I am able to challenge them by using the Academic Vocabulary Cards Set and have them record their own sentences using the vocabulary words they have learned.
The headphones will provide my students the comfort and focus needed to be successful when interacting with their online lessons.
